Abstract

This study investigates delay independent consensus control strategy for vehicular platooning systems experiencing time-varying network delays. First, we design a sliding manifold that ensures the convergence of distance tracking errors to zero within a designated time interval once sliding occurs. Next, applying Lyapunov theory a distributed control law is formulated to steer the states of the system onto the manifold within a fixed settling time. The theoretical developments are ultimately validated via simulation experiments.
